~ About Carol ~

Decorative painting is a large part of who I am.  I have always practiced some type of craft, but after I picked up a paint brush I was hooked.  My needlework and crochet hooks got packed away.  Even the sewing machines, which my husband so lovingly purchased for me, sit and collect dust.  I found PAINT!

My "brush" started over 20 years ago when my sister and I were shopping at a local country craft store and saw a beautiful, hand painted, decorative box.  She looked at me and said, "You can do that!".  I've always tried to meet a challenge, and that is what started my journey of painting.

I explored where Decorative Painting classes were held locally and attended those classes to learn more about the art of Decorative Painting.  I've been "hooked on paint" ever since.  After selling my work for the last 18 years, I still attend classes - taught by well known artists - at conventions and conferences across the country to advance my techniques and knowledge of design.  My work has even been published twice in Quick and Easy Painting magazine!  See the articles in my News section.

As I mentioned, I have been selling my work -with the encouragement of my husband Mike - for the past 18 years.  Mike and I do craft shows together, and both of us enjoy talking with everyone that walks into our booth.  My love of painting has blended perfectly with Mike's love of woodworking, as he builds articles in his woodshop for me to paint.

On a personal note, I have three sons - now adults, three lovely daughters-in-law, and two energetic young grandsons, who all know that when they come over for a visit, they will assuredly find me in my studio painting and their dad in his woodshop, making pieces for me to apply my artwork on.  I feel very blessed to be able to have a life that allows me to explore my passion and share it with you.
